LAKEWOOD, Ohio — It's a lot of hard work, but the results are worth it.

"I am fully entrenched and obsessed with it, work on it every free minute that I have," said Marseille Markham Collins.

Markham Collins creates jewelry using old cords and cables at her Lakewood home.

It all started when she needed some earrings and asked her husband if he had any old junk she could make them from.

"He had a huge box of old tech cords that didn't work, he wasn't going to use and he just kind of laid them in my lap," said Markham Collins.

From there, Junk Party was born.

Markham Collins collects donations of old cords and sells her beautiful creations on her website.

"My favorite thing to do is the crazy stuff that that probably nobody would want to wear ever," she said.

Just by using old cords, this business does its part to save the planet but the sustainability does not stop there, every single thing in the work space used to be something else.

Her earring cards are made from photography matte boards and the vibrant Junk Party sign was re-imagined from old wood.

Markham Collins even reuses her favorite cheese boxes.

"Sometimes I'll just put the earrings in the brie cheese box and you know drop it off or mail it like that," she said.

Cords and cables aren't the only things Markham Collins can make stylish.

"I love taking old things that nobody wants and making them great and fun," she said. "It's a party to me, I love it.
