Teen boy, 15, shot and killed during robbery at Mr. Hero in Cleveland Heights

A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed during a robbery at the Mr. Hero on South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights Friday night. 

Cleveland Heights police arrived on the scene to find Sunny Ravi Patel, 15, shot in the head inside the fast food restaurant around 8 p.m.

Police tended to him until paramedics were able to take him to University Hospital where he died from his injuries, according to Cleveland Heights police.

The suspect is described by police as about 5-foot 10-inches tall with a thin build. During the incident he was wearing a white rag over his face, sunglasses and black Nike sweatshirt. 

Police say the teen was inside the Mr. Hero when someone barged into the restaurant in an attempt to rob the store. The man fired a single shot, which hit the teen in the head. Police say the robber took money from the register and fled.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible.
