Police citing drivers in Solon for avoiding ongoing construction on Miles Road

SOLON, Ohio - Solon police are citing drivers who choose to avoid the ongoing construction on Miles Road by cutting through a nearby shopping center parking lot.

The city announced on Wednesday that it's illegal and unsafe to use the parking lot at 28200 Miles Road as a shortcut.

According to the traffic ordinance, 432.36 Shortcutting Across Private Property, no operator of a motor vehicle shall enter upon private property for the sole purpose of driving across that property, between abutting streets or other public ways thereof.

The ordinance will be enforced until the project is completed, which should be finished by the end of the week, according to the city of Solon.
