Skull found at construction site in Cleveland identified as human, according to medical examiner

CLEVELAND - Human remains have been found at a construction site after a worker found what is believed to be a human skull.

The remains were found around 5 p.m. on Thursday at a construction site located at 1835 E. 79th Street, according to Cleveland police.

The skull was discovered by two construction workers of A & D Contracting Inc when they were cleaning out an old building and getting it ready for demolition.

One of the workers stated he was operating an excavator when they noticed the skull roll out of the excavator.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was called and they later confirmed the skull was human.

While the medical examiner was examining the area,  several pieces of suspected vertebra were collected from the dirt.
