Pregnant woman shot in the head in Cleveland, shooter on the loose

A pregnant woman was shot in the head in Cleveland Tuesday night.

Police were called at 8:18 p.m. to the 700 block of East 101st Street for a man shot. Upon arrival, police found a pregnant woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses told police the woman, who was almost eight months pregnant, was talking to a man just before a "pop" sound was heard. 

The woman was taken to University Hospital to be treated for her injuries. 

Police identified the shooter as 26-year-old Trevell Bey. It was unclear what the relationship is between the woman and Bey. 

Bey ran away from the scene after the shooting. Police continued to search for him Wednesday morning.
