A favorite ice cream shop in Ohio City is turning its space used to serve cold, sweet treats in the summer months into a haven for a hot, comforting bowl of ramen.

When the weather turns unfavorably cold, Mason’s Creamery turns their ice cream shop at 4401 Bridge Avenue into a wildly popular ramen noodle hub.

Starting on Dec. 12., the ice cream shop will reopen as a ramen shop. Instead of ice cream, the shop will serve some form of egg waffles and soft serve ice cream, in addition to the ramen.

Mason's Creamery will have pork, chicken and mushroom options, with similar accoutrements— corn, soft boiled egg, nori, mushroom, among other additions. Vegan options will also be available.

New hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Owners Jesse and Helen started the pop-up ramen shop three years ago as a way to increase business during the winter months when things typically slow down for an ice cream shop.
