Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday evening in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood to discuss plans to avoid crime after a rash of burglaries has left many neighbors on edge.

"I went out and bought a surveillance camera and had it put on my house," said one neighbor.

Police were also there and urged neighbors to be more watchful.

"People leave their garage doors open at night,” said a Cleveland police officer. “Don’t advertise what you have. A Christmas tree piled up with gifts around it."

Officials say the suspect in these incidents is Glen Adkins Jr.

"It’s a crime family, the Adkins family,” said Councilman Tony Brancatelli.

Neighbors say someone caught him in the act of stealing, confronted him and was left dodging gunfire. Police are still looking for him.
