ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — The city of Rocky River is preparing for the possibility of extensive flooding in the area and asking Yacht Club basin residents to be prepared to evacuate should the need arise.
Citizens in Rocky River as being asked to stay clear of the river.
City officials said the police and fire departments are keeping an eye on the rising water levels.
Residents in the affected areas should have an evacuation plan and prepare ahead of time in case it's needed.
The city has advised the following:
- Pack important items such as documents, phone charges and medicine ahead of time.
- Move anything valuable that is sitting on the floor to a higher area
- If you are forced to leave, ensure that the power to the home has been turned off.
Remember that water rises quickly. Do not wait to be notified to evacuate, city officials stated.
