The owner of a store that had a stolen Jeep rammed into it on Friday morning said he watched the damage happen from home.
Food Plus is located on Woodland Avenue near E. 110th Street.
Billal Herbawi said he was watching the store's live surveillance footage from his home computer.
“I just see these guys in the parking lot and before you know it they just backed up into it, so called the police even before the alarm rings,” Herbawi said.
A group of criminals rammed a stolen Jeep into the building, in an attempt to steal the ATM, but were unsuccessful. The damage was repaired by Saturday and the ATM is still bolted to the floor.
Cleveland Police have investigated a string of similar crimes lately. Few have been solved.
