Police said 60-year-old Darryl Smith escaped early the morning of Aug. 26.
Smith walked out of an unsecured door and made his escape, according to police.
Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force said they learned Smith was hiding at a home near the 600 block of East 102nd Street in Cleveland.
Officers entered the home and found Smith in the bedroom. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Cleveland City Jail.

Smith was serving time on a domestic violence charge. He also had a warrant out of Cuyahoga County for felonious assault, in which he's accused of using a knife to assault a victim.
U.S. Marshal Peter Elliott said, “This fugitive was a top priority for the task force. Deputies and Task Force officers worked hard to locate this dangerous escapee and as usual, their hard work paid off.”
