PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — Parma Heights police arrested a wanted man who fled from authorities earlier this year at the airport Monday after he posted on Facebook that he was traveling to Florida.
Mario Whitehead, 27, fled from police on January 3.
Whitehead did not stop his vehicle and led police on a high speed chase that reached speeds of 110 miles per hour, according to officials.
During the pursuit, Whitehead turned off his vehicle's head and tail lights.
Whitehead lost control of his vehicle and struck the brick BP gas station sign at the intersection of Ridge and West Ridgewood roads.
He then exited his vehicle and lead police on a foot chase.
Whitehead was injured during the chase and was given the opportunity to turn himself in.
After failing to do so, police attempted to locate him last week.
Whitehead posted on Facebook Monday that he was traveling to Florida.
Parma Heights police contacted airport police, where Whitehead was arrested.
