The Warrensville Heights police officer who posted a video on Facebook regarding the officer-involved fatal shooting of Alton Sterling that later went viral did not violate department policy, according to the city's mayor.
"How dare you stand next to me in the same uniform and murder somebody. How dare you..." officer Nakia Jones said in the video.
In less than 24 hours the video had two million views and more than 120,000 shares.
Mayor Brad Sellers told newsnet5.com Jones did not violate policy by posting that video. "These are her own personal views given on her own time," Sellers said. "Her statements do not represent the City of Warrensville Heights and the Warrensville Heights Police Department."
