Water woes in vacant Cleveland house

Posted

Water woes in one Cleveland neighborhood had some residents on Chatfield Avenue concerned.

A neighbor who didn't want to be identified said the house at 15701 Chatfield Ave. had been vacant for several months.

Monday afternoon the brick foundation was wet, there was a continuous water drip and neighbors who looked in the window said water was flowing from a broken pipe.

Neighbors called NewsChannel 5 after they said they called the water department twice, but workers had not responded. We contacted the Cleveland Water Department. A spokesperson told us workers responded Monday morning but couldn't find the shut off valve.

Monday afternoon another team with heavy equipment was called to the vacant property. Records show the home is now bank owned and the deed was recently transferred.
