Posted

A man accused of accidentally shooting his 7-year-old nephew plead not guilty Tuesday in Sandusky Municipal Court.

Ervin Clinton, Jr., 36, was arrested June 1 and charged with felony child endangering after Jordy Clinton was shot at 219 Center street in Sandusky on May 29.

The two men who live in the residence said the boy shot himself when he found a gun in the attic.

But a police source informed Newsnet5.com that the 7-year-old told police his uncle shot him accidentally.

According to the source, Ervin is a convicted felon who is currently on parole. He was not allowed to have a gun. Police do not believe the gun was stolen.

The date for Ervin's preliminary hearing is to be announced.
