A California man is back in custody after attempting to escape from the psychiatric ward of the University Hospitals Geauga County Medical Center, according to police.
Authorities said the 24-year-old man jumped from his second floor window onto a lower roof and then fled on foot into the nearby woods.
Police established a perimeter and a female deputy searching the area was allegedly assault by the suspect when he hit her with a rock as she passed by a tree he was hiding behind.
Deputies utilized a stun gun and captured him moments later.
Police said the man is currently in a hospital in Cleveland and is awaiting charges.
