Christmas came early for a dozen children in Lake County.
Willowick Police Officers took 12 children shopping on Friday. It's part of the police department's A Christmas with Blue program.
The children are students at Royalview Elementary School and were selected by the school to shop with a Willowick cop. A limousine picked up the children and took them to Walmart for the shopping spree.
Each child was paired with a Willowick police officer. The officer and child went shopping together for both the children and their families.
When the shopping lists were complete, the children joined the staff at the police department for a pizza party.
The program is paid in part by the "No Shave November." Each officer can pay $50.00 in order not to shave until January 1st. The money raised supports the "A Christmas with Blue" program. Donations from area businesses, organizations and individuals also helps pay for the program aimed to make the holidays brighter for children.
