WICKLIFFE, Ohio — Wickliffe police have arrested one man and issued a warrant for another accused of breaking into Spinners tobacco store on two separate occasions, according to a police.

Police said two males broke into Spinner Tobacco, 29726 Euclid Avenue, twice on two separate occasions. The first time was on Jan. 2 when the two males took numerous cartons of cigarettes. The two males returned again on Feb. 13 through the same door, stealing numerous cartons of cigarettes.

Officers who responded to the store after the second break-in tracked down the footprints in the snow to a nearby shopping plaza where the footprints disappeared due to the snow being removed by snowplows.

The officers searched surrounding streets and driveways and located distinctive footprints leading to a house on East. 296th Street.

Police spoke with the occupants inside the house and located a male who matched the person in the surveillance video from the first break-in on Jan. 2.

A 27-year-old from Fairborn, Ohio was taken into custody and charged with both break-ins. He's not being named until charges are filed.

Police recovered most of the cartons of cigarettes from the break-ins along with other evidence. Police identified a second person believed to be involved and warrants have been issued.
