PD: Help identify gas station robbery suspect

Posted

Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a gas station at gunpoint on Thursday.

Around 10:40 p.m., the Wickliffe Police Department took a report of an armed robbery at the Sunoco gas station at 29200 Euclid Ave.

Police said a white man entered the store, pulled a ski mask over his face, and took out a gun from his waist or sweatshirt pocket. He then demanded money from an employee, who shoved a display rack towards the suspect and fled out the back door.

The suspect left through the front door, but returned seconds later and removed all the cash from the register, police reported. He then fled westbound on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident. The suspect escaped with a small amount of cash. Officers and a K-9 checked the area, but didn't locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as being about 6 feet tall with a solid build, a goatee or similar facial hair, with marks on both hands, wearing dark clothing, and a brown or black hat with two white stripes around the top. He also wore dark jeans with distinctive stitching on the rear pockets.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Wickliffe Police Department at 440-943-1234. Tips can remain confidential and there is a reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
