WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — Willoughby Hills police are investigating after a man was shot during a carjacking.
Police said they were called to Willoughby Hills Towers after 7:15 p.m.
Police said a 65-year-old man was standing by his 2010 black Ford Fusion when a man in his early 20s showed a semi-automatic pistol and shot the man.
The man fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, along with a person driving a red pickup truck that he arrived in.
The man who stole the vehicle reportedly struck several vehicles in the parking lot.
The 65-year-old man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said both vehicles reportedly fled east on Chardon Road towards Bishop Road and Interstate 90.
