Elyria Police responded to a domestic violence dispute involving taquitos on July 5.

According to a police report, Randy Shumway Jr. threw a plate of hot taquitos on a woman following an argument. The plate and hot grease hit the victim's left arm. The report says the woman then ran to a neighbor's house where she was able to call 911.

When officers went to take Shumway into custody, they found him sleeping on the floor in a second story bedroom. Officers also found taquitos on the bed and floor of the bedroom.

Shumway is also accused of becoming combative while in custody. Several corrections officers had to secure him into a restraint chair.

Shumay is charged with domestic violence and disrupting public service. He is being held without bond pending his appearance in court.
