An inmate who was being housed in the Lorain County Jail has died after he was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital Sunday.
According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, inmate Joseph Boden, 37, was found in need of assistance in one of the housing units at 11:25 p.m.
Medical staff at the jail helped with first aid until EMS arrived.
Boden was transported by Life Care to UH in Elyria where he was pronounced dead.
According to the authorities, Boden was last checked on during a headcount at 11p.m when he was alert and standing.
