In 911 calls released on Friday, a Lorain dispatcher can be heard trying to calm down the victim of an attempted abduction.

On Thursday morning, 911 callers reported a man tried to grab two girls and that he exposed himself to another as they were on their way to school Thursday.

"I was just walking down the street," the victim said, moments after the alleged attack.

The victim said the man was wearing all black.  Other callers reported similar scenes.

"A girl just ran by with a book bag," one caller said. "She ran down one of the side streets. She was being attacked by somebody. A man was chasing her."

"She was walking to the bus and a man with a mask came up and punched her," a third caller said, "And she thinks he was trying to molest her.”

A lockdown at all of Lorain's schools was lifted on Thursday, but heavy police presence remained Friday.

Some parents received an automated phone call on Thursday from Lorain City Schools telling them a suspect had been "apprehended," but that information was false.

Lorain City Schools' spokeswoman Erin Gadd said the robocalls contained a "poor choice of words," and that they are making efforts to correct that information. Gadd said schools remain on high alert Friday. It is normal policy for all school doors to be locked anyways and she urged parents to take extra precautions.

"Make sure that your children are escorted to and from the bus stops, to and from the schools. There are community members assisting with that," Gadd said.

The incidents are still under investigation and no one has been arrested. Police are concerned the man could be mentally unstable and are investigating whether these abduction attempts are related to a similar report Thursday in Elyria, where a 10-year-old girl reported a man tried to snatch her from her bedroom.
