A 39-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly hiring a hitman to have a North Ridgeville man killed, according to police.
Police said the suspect, Seljami Idrizi of Grafton, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
According to police Capt. Marti Garrow, the person Idrizi hired tipped off authorities to the murder plot and that's when the department put a Hollywood-style plan into action to arrest Idrizi.
Police hired a local make-up artist to stage a fake murder scene. Photographs were taken of the "victim" in such a way to make it appear he had been shot, and then sent to Idrizi. According to police, the victim and Idrizi are familiar with each other, but authorities didn't give specifics on the relationship.
After the photographs were taken, they were sent to Idrizi, who then paid the informant for the alleged killing.
Idrizi was taken into custody without anyone actually having been hurt.
According to court records, Idrizi was ordered to surrender his passport. Hs currently being held in lieu of a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 27.
