Polar Plunge supports teen with cancer

Posted

This year's Wellington Eagles Polar Plunge will support a Lorain County teenager who is battling brain cancer.

newsnet5.com first told you about Landry Cole last fall, when her longtime friend helped raise more than $5,000 for the girl.

Cole was diagnosed with brain cancer in December 2014. Since then, she's had a baseball-sized tumor removed from her head and multiple rounds of chemotherapy.

As her battle continues, the Wellington Eagles are raising money for her family to purchase an iSTAT machine—a $6,500 machine that can check her sodium levels at home.

Want to help? If you donate $50 or more, your name will appear on the event t-shirt as well as all publications for the event.

Fill out a sponsor form and return your donation before Jan. 16. To pick up a form, call 440-647-2914.

The 4th annual Polar Plunge is Jan. 17 at noon. Activities will take place at 20669 West Road in Wellington.
