A suspect in the murder of a woman in Lorain has been arrested, police said.
According to police, Anthony Wayne Davis, 57, was taken into custody at 9 a.m. on Sunday in connection with the shooting death of his friend, 59-year-old Corrinna Charleton. He has been charged with murder.
Police, along with members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Lorain SAT Team, were conducting surveillance in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue in an attempt to locate Davis when he was seen exiting a nearby home on Sunday morning.
Police had been looking for Davis on Saturday and issued a warrant for murder for his arrest after authorities were called to 916 West 7th Court around 5:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Charleton with apparent gunshot wounds.
Charleton later died from her injuries.
