Former Medina lacrosse coach who stole more than $90K from association gives money back, sentenced

Posted

A former Medina County lacrosse coach who stole tens of thousands of dollars from the Medina Lacrosse Association while also serving as the association's president paid back the full amount he stole at his sentencing on Monday.

Greg Bacho was charged with grand theft after stealing $93,500 between 2013 and 2016. His attorney presented a check for that amount to the prosecutor on Monday, and a member from the lacrosse board will pick it so that the money goes back to the association.

Bacho was sentenced to three years probation, and he must write a letter of apology to the lacrosse organization. He was also ordered not to have any contact with the victims.

The association, which serves more than 200 kids in grades one through eight, was reorganized as the Medina Youth Lacrosse Association with new board members.
