Township creates Internet transaction safezone

Officials have announced their intention to create an internet transaction safe zone at the Medina Township Police Department.

The area will be well marked and recorded by cameras twenty-four hours a day, year round.

"Over the past several years we have seen several cases in the news where individuals are physically harmed during an exchange resulting from an online purchase," Chief of Police David L. Arbogast said. "Typically through websites like Craigslist or Facebook, people are often making these exchanges in locations that are away from a watchful eye"

Officials said they hope to have everything set up within the coming weeks.
