Aurora police responded Wednesday to a Facebook post that has gone viral about a possible attempted abduction earlier this month at Aurora Farms outlets.
Aurora police said on their Facebook page that they never received a report regarding anyone attempting to abduct a child and they encouraged residents to call police if they encounter a threatening situation, rather than scare others.
The police department was referring to a post from a woman who said two men and a woman appeared to be trying to abduct her daughter at one of the stores.
She said she alerted security and they informed her of a similar incident the week before.
Aurora police say they were never contacted about this incident or any other attempted abductions at Aurora Farms in the past.
They also say their department has a "strong working relationship with the Aurora Farms security."
