Kent State University has released information on its website regarding registration for fall classes being cancelled.
According to the Kent State website, students received an email about fall class registration cancellations. The university said something triggered the class cancellation process to run on Thursday instead of its scheduled date of Aug. 18.
The website says registration is currently closed while the Information Systems department works on a solution.
We are aware of the email sent to some students about registration cancellation. We are working on a solution. More info when available.

The university said the Bursar's Office in conjunction with the IS department and Student Financial Aid and Registrar's offices will work over the weekend to restore each affected student's class registrations. All class schedules will be restored by Aug. 16 at noon. Registration will then be reopened.
For now, the university said, the registration system is still closed to make sure class schedules are accurately restored.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will restore affected students' schedules: https://t.co/SypVX9v7MP https://t.co/ceUkbz2EFS

The website says students can not re-register for classes since registration is closed. The payment due date has been extended to Aug. 18. There will not be late fee charges on payments made through Aug. 18. The deadline to pay any outstanding balance without a penalty was moved to Aug. 21. Financial aid, residence hall fees, and dining plans were not affected by the error.
The university said students do not need to contact their academic advisors. The university will notify students through their kent.edu email addresses on when the schedules are restored.
