Alliance police get texts requesting meth

Posted

Facebook is buzzing after police posted about a drug bust in Alliance.

Detectives arrested, who they're calling, one of the town's biggest meth dealers, Steve Notman. But it's what he turned over to them that's getting people talking.

When Alliance police arrested Notman for drug trafficking, and he willingly gave up his phone, they didn't expect the nonstop calls and messages, like this one:

"I need that same thing again...I got 15 of it now, then I'll just owe you 5."

Eventually, after around 40 calls and texts, detectives posted a warning on their Facebook page;

"Please stop calling Steve Notman's phone...we have his phone and are trying to go through all his texts requesting drugs, but you keep calling and texting and it's really annoying...he is all out of drugs! We will come to you soon enough."

Detective Bob Rajcan told NewsChannel 5, the post wasn't a joke, they really needed the phone to stop ringing.

"It wasn't to embarrass Steve, it was to get people to stop! So we could finish our investigation," he said.
