North Canton police are asking children to stop walking to and from school after a black bear was spotted in the area.
Police say the bear was spotted by officers and residents around 11 p.m. Thursday near Arrowhead Golf Course.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources was informed of the sighting.
So far, police say the bear has not been aggressive.
Residents are asked to be mindful when children and pets are outdoors.

Children who usually walk to and from school are also asked to be picked up and dropped off.
Police say patrols will also be active throughout the city.
Residents are asked to report sightings to local law enforcement.
Jackson Township police reported that a black bear was spotted in their city Thursday.
