A Tallmadge man who killed his girlfriend and her son will remain behind bars following an affirmation of his conviction from the Ninth District Court of Appeals on Wednesday.

On July 23, 2013, Daniel Tighe, 42, murdered his son, Peyton Ralston and his mother Wendy Ralston. Tighe hid their bodies in a wooded area behind their shared house. He was found guilty of aggravated murder, murder, domestic violence, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse on February 27, 2015.

On March 25, 2015, Tighe was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders.

Tighe appealed, arguing that his statements made to investigators shouldn't have been allowed during the trial and the police violated his rights. He also argued there was insufficient evidence to support a conviction.

Wednesday, the court disagreed and denied Tighe's appeal.
