A family was jolted awake just around 3 a.m. Thanksgiving morning when a speeding car crashed through their garage in a Jackson Township neighborhood.
The son of the homeowner said he was visiting his parents and asleep inside the home at the corner of Blue Ash Avenue Northwest and Regina Circle Northwest in Jackson Township when a car crashed into the garage.
The out of control car, a Ford Focus, was southbound on Blue Ash Avenue Northwest when it jumped a sidewalk and went into a front yard. The Focus then continued across Regina Circle, jumped another sidewalk and eventually crashed into the garage of the home.
Inside the garage were two cars. One of them was pushed through the back wall of the garage and left sticking halfway out of the back wall of the garage. The second car in the garage was smashed against a wall. The son of the homeowner said he believed both cars that were parked inside the garage were total losses.
When everyone inside the house went to the garage, they found the car and four people. Three of the four took off running, but the driver was trapped and unconscious behind the wheel.
Jackson Township police said the person in the driver's seat was transported to a local hospital.
A construction company was called to shore up the garage after the tow trucks removed the three smashed cars from inside the garage.
