A Stark County woman woke up early Thursday to find a man standing over her with a knife.
According to Jackson Township police, the man entered her home on Kentview Avenue NW in North Canton around midnight through an unlocked door.
Police said the victim was injured after an altercation with the suspect.
He was described as white man, 5-foot 7-inches tall with a close-cut beard, mustache and haircut.
The victim was treated at a local hospital Thursday and released.
Police say it is very unusual that a knife be used in a crime in Jackson Township but authorities are urging residents to be aware of their surroundings until the suspect is identified and arrested.
