A man previously arrested after a SWAT situation in Akron has now been charged with murder in connection to thedeath of a woman in Cuyahoga Falls.
Marcus Coker, 35, was charged Friday in the murder of Ashley Michelle Williams.
Williams was found dead at an apartment on Howe Avenue last weekend. Police said she suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was reported missing by her family on Saturday. They said she was supposed to meet Coker, her ex-boyfriend, the night before.
Friday night, Coker caused a SWAT situation after police caught him driving erratically in a residential neighborhood in Akron. He was in Williams' car.
Coker allegedly ignored commands to get out of the car, and an officer fired a shot.
According to court records, Coker had a history of domestic violence.
