An Akron father shot his daughter after he mistakenly took her as a home intruder.
The 42-year-old called police at 1 a.m. after he heard someone entering his home kitchen in the 1400 block of Onondago Avenue. When the man yelled to ask who was in the kitchen, the person did not respond, according to Akron police.
Looking at a shadowy figure and thinking it was an intruder, the man shot. The person turned out to be his 22-year-old daughter, who was supposed to be housing sitting at another location
She was taken to Akron City Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The shooting is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
