Multiple crews are responding to a HAZMAT situation at Omnova Solutions in Mogadore Thursday morning.
Omnova Solutions, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, is located on South Cleveland Avenue.
A colorless, flammable chemical called butadiene that is used to make latex started to leak from a rail car delivering the chemical.
The tank containing the chemical was not filled all the way and crews have almost contained the leak.
Summit County HAZMAT found a loose valve on the tank that holds the chemical. Crews are working to replace the existing seal on the tank to ensure there is no further leakage.
Authorities evacuated around 30 residents living nearby the facility to a Mogadore elementary school.
