After getting a soaking on Monday afternoon, the ground on a Bath Township hillside gave way, leading to a landslide that took down several large trees and three utility poles.
The trees, poles and soil blocked part of Bath Road near Revere Road. The section of roadway is expected to remain closed at least through Tuesday.

Officials said Bath Township got more than two inches of rain in a two-hour period. The soil became so saturated that the sand below it became destabilized.
"The whole section basically slid off into the roadway, carrying with it the trees and poles," said Vito Sinopoli, the township administrator.
There were no injuries. Utility crews were busy Tuesday cleaning up the mess.
According to Bath Township officials, the last time the community experienced a similar landslide was 2014.
