The Northfield community gathered Friday to remember the family of four that was killed in a house explosion earlier this week.

Residents gathered in front of the Skyhaven Road home of Jeff, Cindy, Ruthie and Alyson Mather at 8:30 p.m. for a memorial walk.

The entire family was killed in a house explosion Monday evening.

The bodies of the girls were found near their mother. Jeff's body was found in a different part of the home.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner, the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Records show Jeff tried to commit suicide in early December. A gas can was found next to his body after the explosion.
