An Ohio State Highway Patrol chased a pick-up truck for about an hour from Cleveland to Twinsburg Tuesday morning.
The truck lost control on Iris Glen Drive before the driver fled the vehicle.
The cruiser crashed into a pole on Ravenna Road, snapping it in half as it came crashing on top of the car.
The trooper was taken to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.
Police searched the area for about 20 minutes with a K-9 before locating the suspect.
