Teen hit by stray bullet in Tallmadge shooting

A 15-year-old boy was hit in the leg by a stray bullet when shots were fired during an argument in Tallmadge over the weekend. 

Police said 21-year-old Quashane Varner Jr. was involved in an argument with a 23-year-old Akron man Sunday in to 200 block of North Thomas Road when he took out a handgun and fired two shots.

One hit the 23-year-old in the side. The other hit the 15-year-old Tallmadge High School student in the leg.

The teen was taken to a local hospital, treated and released. The 23-year-old is still being treated. 

According to the Tallmadge police chief, two attempted murder warrants have been filed in the case.
