TALLMADGE, Ohio — A Tallmadge teen may lose his eyesight after receiving injuries from a BB gun, according to a police report.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. Monday, the teen frantically called his legal guardian to tell him he needed to go to the emergency room.

The teen's legal guardian picked him up in the 320 block of Northeast Avenue in Tallmadge.

Once at the Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, the teen said he was shot in the eye with a BB gun. He was taken to Akron Children's Hospital where medical staff said he may not regain his vision.

On Tuesday, he was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for additional testing.

The teen's legal guardian called a number to find out exactly what happened that led to the teen getting shot in the eye. The male caller said the BB "must have ricocheted off the wall."

Police advised the teen's legal guardian to save any messages found on the teen's phone.

No further details on the shooting was released.
