Two people have been indicted in Twinsburg for their roles in a drug overdose death.
Twinsburg police responded to a 911 call on Warren Parkway in July when a man found his daughter lying on the floor of her bedroom unresponsive.
Officers say they found Jodi Lynn Gunnoe, 23, dead from an apparent drug overdose.
Twinsburg detectives say they worked with the Southeast Area Law Enforcement Task Force to determine who supplied and administered the fatal dose of fentanyl-laced heroin to Gunnoe.
Joseph Micahel Mislosky, 33, and Mark Anthony Wisniewski, 40, were each indicted on involuntary manslaughter, one count of corrupting another with drugs, trafficking in heroin and aggravated trafficking in drugs.
Wisniewski is being held at the Summit County Jail. Mislosky is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on an unrelated burglary charge.
Gunnoe's family released the following statement, thanking those involved in the investigation:
"Our family would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt Thank You to the Twinsburg Police Department and everyone else involved with this investigation. A little over a year has passed since this tragic loss of a beautiful person and we are still healing. So much potential has been lost to this monstrosity over the years. Having said that, we would also like to take this time to send our condolences to all of the other families out there that have lost someone to heroin/fentanyl - or any other substance for that matter. And to ignore any egregious comments made by people who are obviously a little out of tune with life.
Also; It is very sad that up to this point there doesn't even seem to be so much as an attempt at adopting a more straight forward approach to substance abuse education. Let alone more comprehensive treatment standards for substance abuse and mental health alike. We're all human and 'character flaws' tend to come with the package. All we can do at this point is to live in the present moment and to love everyone around us."
