Police reports reveal the chilling details about the moments before a woman was killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Hudsonover the weekend.
Records show Kristi Bice sent a text message less than an hour before she died, indicating she feared for her life.
Kristi, 42, and her husband Stephen, 53, were found dead at a home in the 7600 block of Ravenna Road in Hudson Saturday. Police suspect a murder-suicide.
According to police reports, the couple's 18-year-old son, Luke, found the bodies Saturday around noon after Stephen told the teen and his two brothers to meet him at Fun and Stuff in Macedonia to discuss "family issues."
When Stephen never showed up, Luke "became uneasy" due to the way his father had been acting. According to the report, Stephen had called Kristi nine times the day before they were found dead.
Luke called his mom as he was driving home from Fun and Stuff but she didn't answer, according to police. When he arrived back at the home, the door was cracked open. That's when he called police.
Kristi and Stephen were both found dead on the floor of the home from gunshot wounds.
Police reports state Kristi had sent an eerie text message to her 29-year-old stepdaughter less than an hour before she was killed.
The text message read:
"Ugh. I feel so vulnerable right now. Dad called boys out of the blu and told them to meet him at fun and stuff in 15 minutes. Luke said you need to give us more time than that we haven't had showers. He said ok meet you in half hour. Boys get out there and he isn't there. I hope he isn't planning on getting them out of the house so he can blow me up."
That message was sent at 12 p.m. According to the report, Kristi was shot sometime in the next four minutes.
According to police, Stephen had been living elsewhere since he was arrested for domestic violence on Jan. 14. Police said they had filed several reports regarding Stephen since January, including violations of protection orders.
Police found a gun lying next to Kristi's body. No bullets had been fired from her gun, according to the report.
