A woman in Roswell in Tuscarawas County was found dead Saturday after she was washed away by flooding Friday night, according to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office.
Doris Jenkins, who was in her 80s, was apparently checking on her goats when she was swept away, deputies said.
Neighbors searched the area for Jenkins after she was reported missing and found her body face down in a field, according to Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orivs Campbell. He said a neighbor called the sheriff's office to report she had gone to check on Jenkins and found the door to her home open and the first floor of the house wet.
Deputies said a severe storm hit the area between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday. It rained so much that Sheriff Campbell said five inches of water were collected in his rain gauge in an hour.
Authorities are still working to determine a cause of death.
