A 22-year-old woman and a 16-year old boy were killed in a car crash Friday night in Wayne Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Police said the driver, Kristine Hutchinson, 22, was traveling southbound on Friendsville Road when she drove her 2002 Mercury Mountaineer off the side of the road and the SUV overturned.
Sixteen-year-old Alex Collett, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries, troopers said.
Troopers said Hutchingson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but she sustained a fatal injury from the crash.
According to authorities, six other people were in the SUV at the time of the crash and were also injured, including multiple teenagers and two adults. Five of those victims were not wearing seatbelts, troopers said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
