COLUMBUS, Ohio — A club in Ohio was cited for violating the state’s COVID-19 health orders after agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit observed around 500 people inside attending a concert.

Agents arrived at the Aftermath club in Columbus around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night and observed approximately 500 people inside. The dance floor, stage area, bar and table sections were crowded with guests, OIU said.

Guests were congregated throughout the club with no attempts to maintain social distancing. The club also had no physical barriers in place, according to OIU.

Agents also observed guests standing and walking freely, sharing alcoholic beverages directly from the same bottle, passing the bottles between groups, OIU said.

OIU said that most of the crowd and the employees of the club were not wearing face masks or coverings.

Aftermath was issued a citation for improper conduct – disorderly activities.

The club will have its case heard before the Ohio Liquor Control Commission and faces potential penalties, including fines and/or the suspension or revocation of its liquor permit.
