Two recent celebrity suicides have sparked a new round of conversations about mental health. Here in Ohio, lawmakers are slowly starting to make some changes. The state is adding a portion in Ohio's Medicaid plan to fund and support recovery for individuals with a substance abuse disorder or mental illness.

“It can be offered to more people, and we're very excited to help develop the model," said Laurie D'Angelo, executive director for the Magnolia Clubhouse in Cleveland. Magnolia Clubhouse is a place for people with mental illness while also working as volunteers, cooking, cleaning and organizing events. It is one of only three facilities like it in the state. “The hope is that this becomes as common as medication," D’Angelo said.
