Strong winds brought down power lines and trees Wednesday afternoon, causing power outages and road closures across Northeast Ohio.

9:39 p.m. RTA resumes rail service on Red Line between airport and Tower City
- Buses will continue to replace trains on the east side on the Red, Blue and Green Lines east of Tower City for the remainder of the evening (until about midnight).
- Full rail service will be restored with the start of service Thursday morning (about 3 a.m.) on the Red, Blue and Green Lines, except for a previously scheduled fiber-optic cable project.
8:08 p.m. RTA announces buses will be replacing ALL trains along the Red, Blue, and Green lines.
- 66R buses will pick up at all Red Line stations between the Airport and Windermere.
- 67R buses will pick up at all stations between Tower City and the end of the Blue and Green Lines.
7:41 p.m. The city of Macedonia expects power to be back on around 11 p.m.
6:36 p.m. Due to a power outage, buses are replacing east side trains between Tower City and the end of the Red, Blue and Green RTA lines, effective until further notice.
- 66R buses will pick up at all Red Line stops between Tower City and Windermere.
- 67R buses will pick up at all stations between Tower City and the end of the Blue and Green Lines.
4:33 p.m. The following roads are closed in Portage County due to down trees
- SR 88 between Asbury Rd. and SR 700
- SR 43 at the Mogador Reservoir
4:30 p.m. Some flights are being diverted from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to Columbus due to high winds. Check flight status here.

1:18 p.m. From Akron Public Schools: We have a couple of downed power lines near Kenmore High School at 13th Street and Wyoming Avenue. Power is out at the school, so we are calling---right now---all families asking they pick kids up early today.
