Suspect gets knocked out during Akron robbery

Repeat break-ins to an Akron liquor store end with a suspect getting knocked out in the act.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday morning, three men threw a cinder block through the front door of Leprechaun Liquor Store.

They made off with over $1,000 worth of cigarettes and cigars — but not before one of the men got knocked out.

Store owner, Ralph Jaikaissoon said this is the second week in a row, where people have come to rob the store. On February 13, two men came to the store and stole bottles of Patron, Hennessy and cash.

When the suspects tried to steal both cash and merchandise on Sunday that would have cost over $10,000, one of the men ran into the door and got knocked out cold.

His accomplices almost left him before coming back to drag him outside. They then dumped him in the backseat of their vehicle.

While it's a conversation starter for customers, Jaikaissoon can't help but wonder if any of them have information about the break-ins.

The break-ins are happening faster than repairs to his store, and Jaikaissoon has lost a total of $10,000 from both incidents.
